When Danni Shinya Luo was living in China as a little kid, she was always doodling in her text books and imitating drawings from her favorite Manga pages. After she came to the US at a young age, she started taking weekend art classes and eventually got a 4 year apprenticeship with an well know Chinese-American watercolor master, Ding Ha. Danni then went on to study in Art Center Colleges of Design.
Danni Shinya Luo's paintings have been in numerous exhibitions in the US and oversea. La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles is her main representing gallery. Besides her establishment in the pop surrealism field, Danni has been active in other creative fields as well. She has done works for many different places including: Hasbro Inc., MGA Entertainment, Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds, Marvel Comics, Zenescope Comics, and more.
Danni has published 3 art books with the 4th one in the pipeline (see Books & Prints page for pre-order). The first book Break The Ice was self-published, 300 editions soft cover, which was sold out soon after release. The second book Soft Candy was a hardcover, published through Last Gasp Publishing in San Francisco. Soft Candy is available on amazon, and here(email orders). Danni's 3rd book Un Petit Catalogue was self-published with 500 editions. It's a larger format soft cover with a collection of paintings and drawings.
Danni has been active in other parts of the art community as well. Participating in Charity shows to support Women's Rights. She has also been one of the original members of GirlsDrawinGirls Inc., an organization that supports women artists.
After living in Los Angeles for most of her life, Danni moved to the bay area in 2015. She now works and travels between there and LA.
Danni's latest endeavor is into Web3 space, creating interactive crypto art on Async.art
